Amazing Puglia | Puglia’s Top 70 | #35 – 1

Amazing Puglia, the lifestyle magazine for Puglia recently listed their selection of “The 70 Apulian Cityes (sic) where you live better”.

Le 70 Città pugliesi dove si vive meglio

Based on the following criteria, Puglia’s Amazing Puglia magazine ranked their list of 2020’s most liveable cities in Puglia.

For #70 - 36 see here.

The Criteria

1) local administration;
2) cultural and entrepreneurial presence;
3) infrastructure;
4) public education and university courses;
5) green areas and cycle paths;
6) projects presented and / or funded;
8) public safety and public order;
9) quality of public transport;
10) disabled facilities;
11) tourism;
12) restaurants;
13) waste recycling;
14) shopping;
15) care and restoration of historic centres.

One of the caveats that they ask their that readers to bear in mind when considering the list is that almost always the perception of the beauty and liveability of a place are different according to who is judging. A resident will give weight to day-to-day problems, such as rubbish collection. Whereas a tourist will overlook these, concentrating instead on their visitor experience - accessibility to beaches, restaurants and so on.

In compiling the results the magazine did recognise the efforts and long term planning of certain municipalities where longevity and stability of the administration has delivered results, warning that vision alone is not sufficient.
